Ross Family February 2014 Prayer Requests

Mexico  Praise that Joan continues to gain strength and energy after her surgery. Pray that God would strengthen the marriages of our three children and their spouses.  Pray for continued wisdom and safety in our flight operations.   Pray that God would provide a hangar where we can go for maintenance, provide paper work needed to fly our newest airplane and provide a long anticipated permanent resolution to our airstrip permits. 

Pray for the nine ESI groups that are meeting in Mexico.  Pray for the newest group which recently started in Amoltepec in an attempt to equip the pastors there.  Pray for wisdom in modifying the material and the pace so that it can be best meet their needs.  Pray for the Hebrews study which continues to meet weekly.  Pray that schedules will remain open and flexible to allow this group to meet regularly. 

The Ross Family January 2014 Prayer Requests

Please pray for grace for their aging parents.  Also pray for all the arrangements being made for the arrival of the ten-member Parkside dental team that will be ministering in the small community of Barraca Rica in Amoltepec, Oaxaca State during the last week of this month.  Pray for each one as they prepare for the trip, as well as safety in travels and health during their time in Mexico.  Pray that the lives they touch physically will be transformed spiritually for God’s glory.  Pray that the Christians will be encouraged and new doors will be opened for the gospel.  

Pray for the nine Equipping Servants Internship (ESI) groups who will start a new module of study this month. Pray that each participant will be changed by the study of God’s Word. Pray for safety and strength for Edgar as he makes bi-weekly seven hour bus trips to Pachuca to lead three groups. Pray for Neri as he juggles pastoral responsibilities with leading two ESI groups in Tapachula.

Ross Family December 2013 Prayer Requests

• Praise for successful surgery for Joan. Please pray for continued patience for Joan as she works through the healing process. We were pleased to receive good results from her biopsies. Pray that she will be strong enough to travel to Chiapas on the 13th.
• Pray for continued safety in our flight operation during this busy season of the year.

Joan Surgery Update 2

A quick note to let you know that the biopsies that were done during Joan’s surgery all came back clear. We thank God for this good report and for His continued grace in allowing us to serve in Oaxaca. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf.

Ross Family November 2013 Prayer Requests

• We are very thankful for successful surgery in Cleveland for Joan. Pray for complete healing and a safe trip back to Oaxaca on November 4th.
• Pray for Chuck and Susan as they visit Oaxaca this month that God would confirm His call in their lives to serve with MAF in Mexico.
• Pray that our Monday evening Bible study and prayer time would encourage new believers in their walk with the Lord.
• Pray for continued safety in our daily flight operations.

Joan Surgery Update

Thank you so much for your prayers for Joan's surgery. She is "home" and is beginning the recuperation process. In spite of a serious concern that surgery might affect one of her nerves and require rehab afterwards, we are happy to report that God is faithful and the nerve is tender but there was no damage done. We were able to face this situation knowing that God is the Great Physician and that you were praying with us.

We are hoping to return to Oaxaca on Nov. 4th.

Ross Family October 2013 Update

You know what they say about the "best laid plans . . ." We are experiencing this on our trip home and would appreciate your prayers that we would graciously accept God's alternate plans.

Originally Mike planned to return to Oaxaca on Oct. 7th and Joan would travel to Perrysburg to spend 3 weeks with her mom. However, Joan's routine exams at the Cleveland Clinic indicated that she needs surgery to remove a "mystery" mass in her abdomen. Surgery is scheduled for Oct. 18th at the Clinic which means MiKe will have to delay his departure and Joan probably will also be staying longer than scheduled.

• Please pray for Joan as she spends most of this month helping her mother get back on her won after having hip surgery.
• Pray for safety in the flying in Oaxaca as October brings lots of rain and low clouds in the mountains.
• Pray that the paper work will be completed on our third airplane so that it can serve the people of Oaxaca.

After almost 18 months in the USA raising funds Juan Carlos and his family are back here as part of our team. Juan Carlos is a pilot/mechanic and will be able to pick up a large portion of the flight and maintenance responsibilities.
