- Senior Pastor
Alistair Begg came to Parkside as our senior Pastor in September 1983. On Sundays, you'll find him preaching at Parkside. He sets the strategic vision for Parkside Church. His teaching is also featured on the radio program, Truth For Life. He was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, and from there went to Trent University, London School of Theology, and Westminster Seminary. He and his wife, Susan, have three children. One book he believes every person should have in his or her personal library besides the Bible is The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan.

Mickey Aquilino joined our staff in March 1996. Mickey earned an English degree from Kent State University, and graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2000. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two grown daughters, Joy and Gina, both of whom are married to pastors, and they have four grandchildren. In his spare time, you'll find Mickey playing the piano, reading or playing Madden.

Jonathan Cameron joined the Parkside team in June 2008. As our pastor of communications, Jon's role is to communicate the vision and goals set for Parkside Church and to care for the church body via the website, graphic design, print and digital media. He spent his undergraduate time at Grove City College studying political science and molecular biology and has a master's degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jonathan and his wife, Megan, have three children: Charlotte, Lucy, and Scott.

Jonathan Holmes joined the Parkside team in October 2008 as the campus pastor at Parkside Church Green. He oversees Men's & Women’s ministry, Young Marrieds’ & Families at Green and the Counseling & Marriage ministries at both campuses. Jonathan graduated with degrees in Biblical Counseling and History from The Master’s College and has a master's degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jonathan and his wife, Jennifer, are parents of four daughters: Ava, Riley, Ruby and Emma. Jonathan enjoys traveling, reading, politics and spending time with his wife. One book Jonathan recommends to all is Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands by Paul David Tripp.

Dan Larison joined the staff team in September 2005 but he and his wife, Pam, have been members of the church since 1998. Dan hails from Cincinnati and attended Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His main areas of responsibility are global missions, biblical counseling and the pastoral residency program. He is also involved in our prision ministry. He and Pam have five children. One thing Dan enjoys is getting out into nature, whether hiking, camping or just pausing for a great view of what God has made.

Mac came to Parkside as an intern in 2016 and joined the pastoral team in 2017. Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he graduated with his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He married Keara in June of 2016, and in his free time enjoys spending time with Keara, reading, being outdoors, and watching Michigan State football. A book that he frequently returns to and recommends is The Cross of Christ by John Stott.

Jeff Mills came to Parkside in May 1994. He was born and raised in Kirtland, Ohio, and attended Ohio Northern University in Business Accounting. After a career at Arthur Andersen, God called him into full-time ministry where he has served at Parkside as the Director of Ministries. In his role, Jeff helps to implement the day-to-day details of Alistair's vision for the church, helps provide direction for new and existing ministries, and assists with the financial and operations management of the ministry. He is married to Terry and they have two grown daughters. One book he recommends is The Gospel for Real Life by Jerry Bridges, and in his free time you'll find him enjoying his family, reading or exercising.

Matt Ross joined the Parkside team in 2019. Born and raised in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, he received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown College in Communication & Media Studies and earned a Master of Divinity in Theology from Southern Seminary. He married his wife, Catherine, in 2016 and together they enjoy good coffee, Cincinnati sports, and taking trips together. A book that he returns to often and recommends is Desiring God by John Piper.

Dan Schillero joined our staff in June 2013 and leads our high school youth ministry. He and his wife, Emily, were married in 2014. Dan graduated from Moody Bible Institute with his Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies. In his free time, he enjoys running, playing basketball, reading, and spending time with his wife and two children: Leo and Penny. One of Dan’s favorite books is Prodigal God by Timothy Keller.
Brandon F. Smith

Brandon F. Smith was born and raised in the Dayton, Ohio, area. He went on to study at Cedarville University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Seminary Bible. In the fall of 2013, he came to Parkside as an intern and then joined the pastoral team full-time in the fall of 2014. Brandon works with our young adult ministry, Transit, and also oversees various care ministries. He met his wife, Whitney, at Parkside and they were married in the spring of 2016. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights and watching Cincinnati’s professional sports teams.

Dan was born and raised in Ohio. After graduating from Hudson High School he attended Duke University where he first met his wife, Olivia, and went on to graduate with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering. He joined our staff in August of 2007 and has really enjoyed having a front-row seat to what God is doing in the lives of people. He is involved in global missions, small groups, and the Basics Conference. One of his favorite books is Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller. In his free time you will find him keeping up with the Cleveland sports teams, cheering on Duke basketball, and spending time with his wife and their 4 children: Sophie, Lucy, Abby and William.

Nick came to Parkside as an intern in 2015 and joined the pastoral team in 2016. Born and raised in Pineville, Louisiana, he received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana College in Christian Philosophy. He is married to Ally and they have a daughter named Harper. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and playing with their family dog, Beaux. A book that he frequently returns to and recommends is Experiencing the Trinity by Joe Thorn.”

Kay Carter is Alistair’s assistant and joined our team in July 1992. She has two grown children. One of her favorite books is The Fruitful Life by Jerry Bridges. In her spare time you will find her spending enjoyable time with her two grandsons, Will and Owen. She is delighted to welcome her newest granddaughter, Moana, born in Hawaii in October 2008.

Bruce joined our team in January 2005. Serving as our Technical Media Director for the church, he oversees the technical production for Sunday services, conferences, meetings and concerts. Upon graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Video and Music Business, he worked in the sports and corporate video market. He is married to his wife, Sonia, and has 3 children. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and cycling.
- Facilities Manager
Steve joined Parkside's staff in 2008 after serving four years in the United States Navy as an aviation electrician and 13 years as a facilities manager in another ministry. Originally from Connecticut, Steve and his wife, Tammy, have four children: Ben, a Plumber in Ohio; Tabitha, a pastor's wife in Virginia; Sarina, a social worker for Holly Hill Nursing Home; and Theresa, a Culinary Specialist at Holly Hill Nursing Home. In his spare time, Steve enjoys working on his house and taking walks with his wife, Tammy, and dog Dottie.

Kelly Coy joined the Parkside staff in August 2005 and serves as Children's Ministry Director. She and her husband, Michael, have two adult children, Elizabeth and Andrew. Kelly enjoys board games, biking, traveling, and watching her favorite baseball team, the Cleveland Indians. One of her favorite books is Note to Self by Joe Thorn.

Tony Gambatese came to Parkside in January 1999. He is our Business Administrator. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Judy, children, and 10 grandchildren. You might find him working around the yard or in the house. He enjoys working at Parkside for “the challenges that the Lord puts before us, knowing and trusting in Him for the solutions.”
Mark joined the Parkside team in September 2011 in our accounting office. He graduated from CSU with his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2001. He worked for a public accounting firm for five years then in private industry before the Lord led him to Parkside Church. He feels incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to work for His glory in this way. Mark has two sons, Mark and Jesse. His son, Mark, and wife Alisha had their first child in January 2015. Jesse recently moved to his first apartment in Cleveland where he works. Mark is also a photojournalist for a local weekly paper when a story comes his way.

Ruth was born and raised in Green. She and her husband, David, have two grown children: Matthew and Natalie. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Ruth joined Parkside’s Music Ministry team in 1988 and has served in the role of Music Ministry Director since October 2004. One of the things she values most about her role in Music Ministry is finding and playing through new and old hymns, songs and spiritual songs for corporate worship. She highly recommends “Loving Jesus More” by Phil Ryken. She enjoys travelling to new beaches with Dave, cooking, biking, and spending time with family.

Gayle started working at Books by the Park in November of 1999 and she is currently managing the store. She loves interacting with people and enjoys helping them. She is married to Bob and they have two children and four grandchildren. She loves the outdoors, biking, gardening and spending times with her family and friends.
Nicole joined the Parkside Team in the fall of 2015 as the church receptionist. She grew up in the Boardman-Canfield area of Youngstown, Ohio. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. After college, she lived and worked in Cincinnati until moving to Aurora in 2009. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching old movies and getting together with family and friends. Her favorite book is C.H. Spurgeon’s Morning By Morning.

Sandy was born, raised and currently resides in Bedford, Ohio, with her faithful cats Maggie Mae and Molly Olivia. In her spare time you will find her on her patio feeding the birds and squirrels and reading one of her favorite books, The Valley of Vision. She joined our team in March 2007 and what she enjoys most about her job is serving the Lord by serving you. Sandy is the administrative assistant for Jon Cameron and Nick Spurgeon, along with doing jobs for Ruth Juergemeier, and serving as secretary for the Basics Conference under Dan Southam.

Linn Nash joined the Parkside team in June 2012 and works as the administrative assistant for Dan Southam, Dan Larison, Brandon Smith and Nick Spurgeon. In her free time, she serves as the Nursing Home Ministry coordinator for two campuses in the area and enjoys spending time with friends and her two dogs, Gideon and Cinco.

Vicki started at the Common Grounds Café when it opened in November 1999. She has enjoyed seeing how it has grown over the years! When she is not in the kitchen she is glad to be with her family, reading, or doing Zumba.

Renee Pecek joined the Parkside team in June 2005. She is the administrative assistant to Mickey Acquilino and Kelly Coy. Renee was born in Fulton, New York, but raised in Mentor since she was eight. She and her husband, Marty, have one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cheri, and 3 granddaughters, Faith, Willow and Jade. Renee enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family when not serving at Parkside.

Rachel was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She attended Grace College and has a Masters in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Rachel loves the theatre (a couple of her favorites are Les Miserables and Hamilton) and you can find her volunteering as a Redcoat at Playhouse Square. Rachel assists Dan Schillero, Mac Matthews and Brandon Smith.

Jacque Platek came to Parkside in February, 2002. She works as the administrative assistant for Dan Larison. She loves being an aunt to Christian, Gavin, Kennedy, London Grace and Rylee. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family and her favorite hobby is ballroom dancing. Jacque likes warm weather and takes advantage of any opportunity to go to the ocean that comes along!

Chris was born in the northeast Ohio area. She earned her BA at Baldwin Wallace College and her CPA shortly after graduation. Chris came to Parkside in 1997 as an outside CPA while working in public accounting. She left public accounting and joined Parkside’s staff as the Business Administrator in 2017.

Lisa Scarpello joined our team in January 2002 and works as administrative assistant to Jeff Mills. Her new favorite book is Prone to Wander: Prayers of Confession and Celebration. When she can travel her favorite vacation destination is the New England area and especially Newport, Rhode Island. When Lisa has the time she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as antique shopping and reading.
- IT Manager
Addam Skelly joined the Parkside staff in August 2019 as IT Manager. Addam is a graduate of Cedarville University and is working on a cybersecurity degree at Western Governor's University. Addam is married to April and they have three young children: Jackson, Anneka, and Josiah. In his free time, Addam enjoys science-fiction and trips to the US Air Force Museum. A book Addam recommends is The Doctrines of Grace by James Montgomery Boice.
Carl was born and raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He started working on cars at an early age and hasn’t stopped! He and his lovely wife, Becky, have two children, Daniel and Elizabeth. His favorite book other than the Bible is Discipline of Grace, by Jerry Bridges. In his spare time he likes to golf and race. Since 1986, Carl has owned and operated Exceleration, a great place to get your car repairs done.
Chris, a native Clevelander, grew up in Chagrin Falls as the sixth of seven siblings. He has been attending Parkside since 1992 where he met his wife, Laurie. They have three children and live in Aurora. Chris graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BSBA and currently works as a risk management consultant at Huntington Insurance. Chris is an avid reader of WW2 history and enjoys cycling, skiing, and travelling. Chris serves as a midweek life group leader and in the pre-marriage counseling ministry.
Dave grew up in Mentor, Ohio. He attended Miami University where he received his BA; he continued his education at Case Western Reserve where he earned his DDS. Dave also served in the US Navy Dental Corps from 1978-1981. He's had the privilege of being a part of Parkside since it was called The Chapel in 1974. Dave is married to Bitsy and they have five married children: Jen, Jon, Chelsea, Heather and Chrissy. One book that he uses every day is Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon. On Wednesdays Dave usually ruins a good walk by playing golf with a friend.
David was raised in Burton, Ohio, and later attended Bowling Green State University receiving a B.S. in Computer Science. He and wife, Carol, raised two daughters while living in Twinsburg. David owns a business in Brecksville that provides services to manufacturing and distribution companies. You’ll find him involved with men’s ministries, midweek Bible studies, and the JourneyMen riders motorcycle group. He also enjoys singing in the choir and has helped Keith and Kristyn Getty with a few projects. He recommends all to read A Little Book on the Christian Life by John Calvin.
John was raised in Northeast Ohio and has spent his entire life here, with the exception of a five-year stint in sunny Arizona. He earned a BBA from the University of Akron and has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years, the majority of that time with The Charles Schwab Corporation. He has been a member of Parkside for over 20 years and has been involved in various ministries at the church. John enjoys family life in Richfield with his wife, Joy, and their two children, Katelyn and John.
Roger grew up in Massillon and received engineering degrees from the University of Akron and CSU. He is an Executive Vice President for TransDigm here in Cleveland where he has been employed since 1994. He and his wife, Kim, raised their three children, Rebekah, Susan, and Ben, in Solon. They currently live in Bainbridge and enjoy traveling together as well as outdoor activities like boating and cycling. Roger likes to read history and recommends John Adams by David McCullough, as well as his favorite classic Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis.
Randy was born in the northeast Ohio area, spending the majority of his life in Portage and Geauga Counties. He earned his BA at Yale University. He and his wife, Kathie, have seven children. One book Randy recommends is Know the Truth, by Bruce Milne. In his spare time you will find him attending a sporting event of one of his grandchildren. Randy is a self-employed Insurance Agent with Nationwide.
Bill was born and raised in the Cleveland area. He attended Dartmouth College and continued his education at Cornell Law School. Bill is married, and he and his wife, Laurie, have three children: Mike, Bruce and Amy. In his spare time you will find him exercising, golfing, or swimming. He likes to travel. Bill works at Singerman, Mills, Desberg & Kauntz Co., L.P.A. One of his favorite books is Mere Christianity.
George grew up in Northeast Ohio. He attended Moody Bible Institute and William Tyndale College where he received his Bachelor of Music; he earned his Master of Arts in Theology at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. George is married to Kim and they have four children. George, along with his family, are involved in senior living providing service through skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living. At Parkside, he’s been involved in the life group ministry and in the music ministries as a part of the Christmas program. In addition to the Bible, George highly recommends the Valley of Vision by Puritan writers and Prayer by Timothy Keller.
Bob will always consider Bedford his hometown although he spent some of his early years in Quebec. Bob has belonged to Parkside Church since 1979. He received his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State University, and for the past thirty plus years, has been employed with Parker Hannifin in aerospace product development & advanced manufacturing. Bob has a large family which consists of his lovely wife, Julie, and five children: Sarah (Scott), Matthew, Rachel, David, and Ben. When he has spare time he likes to hike, canoe and fish.
Tom grew up in Solon and graduated from Solon High School in 1979. He went on to further his studies at Kent State University and Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a BBA, MBA and MS in Supply Chain Management. Tom is currently working at Materion Corporation. He and his wife, Liese, have two boys, Tom and Brian. Tom enjoys traveling, reading and doing woodworking projects. One book Tom highly recommends is Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem.
Pat was born in Conway, Arkansas, but raised in Chicago where he graduated from DePaul University. He and his wife, Kristin, have four children: Michelle, son-in-law David, Stephanie, son-in-law Taylor, David, daughter-in-law Sarah and Alyssa, son-in-law Eli. They also have eight grandchildren. In addition, to the Bible, Pat believes everyone should own a World Atlas to see the world that God has made.
Eric grew up in Canton, Ohio, and in 1994 graduated from Grove City College. He followed up is undergrad degree with an MBA from Cleveland State University and has held various Global Sourcing positions with a number of Cleveland-based companies. He currently works for the Oatey Company. Eric enjoys family life with his wife, Kristen, and their two sons, William and Andrew. Eric enjoys most sports and regularly runs and plays golf. A favorite book of his is The Pilgrim’s Progress.
Steve was born in Chicago but raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Dartmouth College, where he graduated in 1979. His professional career has been as a financial advisor. Steve is married to Sally, and they have three children: Hannah; Jeff and daughter-in-law Lindsay; Courtney and son-in-law Jon; and three grandchildren. Steve enjoys being in the out of doors, playing multiple sports, reading and spend time with family and friends. One of his favorite books is The Pilgrims Progress.
