James Family September 2016 Prayer & Praise

• Praise for our Equipping Servants “Fundamentos 2016” pastors conferences in August in Santa Cruz and La Paz, Bolivia, and in Huanuco, Peru. Pastor Alex Donnelly taught from the book of Ruth.

• Pray for Jonathan Holmes as he comes to La Paz to teach 300 pastors on the foundations of Biblical Counseling the weekend of September 23.

• Pray for our ESI team and the SIM La Paz team as we send an exploratory team Sept 25-30 to the Bolivian jungle town of Rurrenebaque to see how we can train and encourage Tacana Indian church leaders who are seeking our help.

This Update features our Equipping Servants team in Bolivia. 17 of our 25 leaders met together this weekend. It was a huge encouragement being together! You can read what some of them reported God doing in their lives.

James Family August 2016 Prayer & Praise

• Pray for our Equipping Servants “Fundamentos 2016” pastors conferences this month. We’re expecting 600 participants in Santa Cruz (Aug 18-20), La Paz (Aug 25-27), and Huanuco, Peru (Aug 25-27). Please pray for gospel impact as pastor Alex Donnelly from Peru preaches on seeing Jesus in the book of Ruth in Bolivia and Jerry Cross in Peru teaches on living the gospel.

• Pray for the 750 active Equipping Servants participants in Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru, and for the 1550 total graduates since 2002, that each church/ministry leader will grow in their desire to honor Christ by being true to His Scriptures discipling believers and reaching the lost with the gospel.

• Pray for the Equipping Servants team starting groups in Uruguay this month. Pray as we train key pastors from Bogota, Colombia and Cajamarca, Peru over the next several months, as well as gear up to train Tacana Indian church leaders in the jungle region of La Paz in September. Pray that we will help church leaders better study, teach and preach the Bible to more effectively disciple believers and mobilize the church to reach the least-reached of Latin America -- so that no one will live or die without hearing the Good News of Jesus.

• Praise for gospel impact by the Parkside dental team in Peru for 10 days in May serving alongside our Equipping Servants pastoral training team in Huánuco.

• Praise for the 120 Equipping Servants pastors who attended a weekend retreat at Camp Yungas in La Paz in June dealing with the topic of “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock in which the Lord has made you overseers”.

• Praise for the 300 graduates from different levels of Equipping Servants training in Bolivia in June. Pray for the 800 active participants in Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru, and for the 1500 total graduates since 2002, that each church/ministry leader will grow in their desire to honor Christ by being true to His Scriptures discipling believers and reaching the lost with the gospel.

Hello from Bolivia!

I just returned from 10 days in Peru with a dental team from Parkside Church -- it was a wonderful time of ministry in the Quechua village of Angasmarka with our Equipping Servants pastoral training team. See photos from that trip in this Update.

Equipping Servants (ESI) in Uruguay

Last August we met Uruguayan pastors who invited us to come to Montevideo to start ESI ministry. In April we invited SIM Uruguay director Andres Corrales and Pastor Aldo Fernandez to La Paz for ESI training. These are godly men who have a passion to see a stronger church in their spiritually needy area of South America. We discovered that our hearts sync in the same direction, believing the best way to accomplish this is engaging pastors in the study of God’s Word in the context of committed Biblical friendships.

Andres and Aldo plan to start ESI later this year in Montevideo. Pray for them as they select participants. Pray that the Lord will give Andres and Aldo wisdom to invite the right pastors and church leaders who will experience personal transformation, and be able to help others grow in Christ.

• We’re making progress developing a contacts and a plan to train Tacana Indian church leaders to more effectively study, teach and preach the Bible. Pray as we labor to engage the Bolivian church to reach the least-reached of Bolivia so that no one will live or die without hearing the Good News of Jesus.

• Pray for God’s guidance as we expand Equipping Servants pastoral training into Uruguay in our effort to help church leaders grow in their commitment to Christ and His Scriptures. We had an excellent week of meetings in April training two key Uruguayan pastors to start Equipping Servants. Pray for a mature church in Uruguay committed to discipling believers and reaching the lost with the gospel of Christ.

Pray for a mature church in Uruguay that disciples believers and reaches the lost with the gospel of Christ.

• Pray for the 800 ESI (Equipping Servants pastoral training) participants in Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru. Pray for the 1073 graduates, that many churches will be transformed as pastors and church leaders honor Christ by being true to His Word.
