Wes & Nancy January 2022 Prayer Requests
* Byron asks for prayer for the year ahead. He was appointed to be the “vice mayor" of his community. This is a one year post and it is a sign of the trust and confidence his people have in him, but there are a lot of responsibilities, time-and-money wise. Pray that he is faithful to the task and above reproach. He is still a pastor and he runs a radio program in Mam transmitted throughout the area, and he is involved as a leader in the Mam Bible translation project.
* We hope the Central Mam Bible will be available in 2022.

Wes & Nancy November 2021 Prayer Request
A number of indigenous students from Venezuela studied linguistics and translation with the Collins. Now the desperate need for food, medicine, fuel and Christian training is very great. Pray for funding for projects to reach the most basic of needs and that people would be encouraged by the response of Christians to this significant and dangerous problem. Over four million people have fled the country.

The Mam church is grateful for the completion of a Mam hymn book. Hymns are played on local radio programs and are useful for worship and theological content.

Wes & Nancy August 2021 Prayer Requests
Please pray for Miriam, Byron’s wife who has been waiting well over a year for hernia surgery. Pandemic rules in Guatemala keep her from traveling to the doctor, while she and Byron care for their family, their church ,where he is pastor, and their ministry on the radio.

Wes & Nancy July 2021 Prayer Requests
*Pray for the work of the Gospel among the Mam of Guatemala. Leadership in projects such as Old Testament translation, New Testament revision, and creative outreach to the needy and unbelieving, are now largely in indigenous hands. It is exciting to see locals take ownership of these and other ministries and to grow in their faith and vision.
*Pray for relationships to thrive among the believers and with inquirers in the community.
*I’m still plugging away at the Mam writing project.
Blessings to you,
Wes

Wes & Nancy June 2021 Prayer Requests
* Pray for their ministry partner Byron in Guatemala who is putting together an outreach to families using a series of BIG BOOKS in Mam. The books are big enough for everyone in a large room to see. Although people can’t get around because of pandemic complications, families and neighbors can still meet together with a local pastor or leader for teaching and prayer. Ask God for creativity, wisdom and health for all involved. This is family by family evangelism.
* Pray for Byron’s wife, Miriam. She has three small children and needs hernia surgery, which has been unavailable throughout the COVID lockdown.

Wes & Nancy April 2021 Prayer Requests
* Minority languages like Mam, Quechua, Cherokee, Navajo, among many others, are easily overlooked when resources are divvied up for outreach, Bible study, virtual meetings, and radio programs. Pray particularly that funds could be raised locally.
* Pray also that God would give insight and wisdom to those trying to get the Word out to local communities in the midst of the pandemic.
* Praise: My ankle is pretty good. It’s hard to tell which ankle it was that has the scar. My recovery has been good. I’m back on the bike, and Nan and I have taken some good walks with no swelling.
