Volunteer for the United Way Services of Geauga County 2021 Day of Action!

Spring is in the air, and I’m sure many of you are anxious to (safely) get out of the house after so many months of feeling cooped up. United Way Services of Geauga County has been working on ways to help volunteers get involved in giving back to the community while remaining safe. This year's United Way Day of Action, which will take place on June 18th, will be a great way to get out and help. Historically this is a day that provides volunteers an opportunity to be a part of solutions that make a difference in people’s lives in our county. We are confident that our project will do just that … make a difference!

Our Day of Action project is to build and plant a garden for women in recovery at Lake-Geauga Recovery’s Twelve Meadows Women’s Residence in Munson Twp. In addition to the garden, there will be opportunities on this day to build garden accessories or work with our Women United Group in building bookshelves for the Twelve Meadows residence.

Our office is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health authorities to ensure we have the right plans and resources in place to safeguard your health and well-being. If you are interested in helping on June 18th, please let me know and we will plug you in safely.

Your willingness to be a part of our volunteer efforts strengthens our mission of improving the quality of life in our community. We couldn’t do it without people like you.

If you find you are unable to join us, sponsorship is another great way to support United Way. Since the pandemic began, UWSGC has been striving to meet the critical needs of our community as we continue to face this unprecedented health and economic crisis. Our impact has been felt county-wide at Farmers to Families food drives, food pantries, nonprofits, and by the families who need it most. Your sponsorship will enable us to continue this essential work.

Thank you for being a crucial part of what we do!

With Sincere Gratitude,

Karen Perko Director of Community Engagement
