Mike & Joan October 2020 Update

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Oaxaca. Thank you for your prayers. Mike was able to return to Mexico for a couple of weeks to help out with the flying and finish a required maintenance check for our Mexican aircraft mechanic. Please pray that he can finish up with several details before he returns to Cleveland.

We are very thankful that we are able to continue flying and serving communities that need to hear and understand the Good News. Please pray that the doors will stay open to continue serving despite all the complication from the Pandemic. Please pray for health for our team.

Mike was able to attend a wedding for Juan and Amy last Saturday. Please pray for them as they start their married life together. They hope to start training next summer in Michigan as a missionary pilot/mechanic.

Mike & Joan September 2020 Update

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Oaxaca. Thank you for your prayers. Mike was able to travel to Oaxaca on August 18th. After isolating for several days and a negative COVID test he was able to start flying. In answer to prayers God supplied gasoline for our airplanes the same day that the test results were confirmed. Mike was able to do a flight check for Amos before he headed off for some time away.

Please continue to pray for our pilots around the world as they deal with operations restricted by COVID. In Mexico we are able to fly normally at this point. It is sad to see the local hospitals saturated and refusing patients that need help. Please continue to pray for God to open doors for Juan Carlos to get the training he needs to fly with us here in Mexico.

Mike & Joan August 2020 Update

Dear Friends,

 Another month has passed in the world of COVID-19. We hope all of you are well.

COVID has been quite bad in Oaxaca and we would appreciate prayers for the Alas staff and the members of our church family there.

Mike is hoping to travel to Mexico near the end of August to help Amos with the flying. Alas continues to do flights that help the government attempt to deal with outbreaks. Mostly this consists of moving personnel and supplies for the Oaxaca Secretary of Health. Please pray that the current shortage of gasoline for our airplanes would be resolved soon.

After Mike returns from Oaxaca he will probably be making a trip to Haiti to do some maintenance training. Please pray for these scheduled trips, Mike’s safety and the continued health of all our programs in Latin America.
