Please be in prayer for our friends and neighbors who the Lord has brought into our lives. Pray the Lord would soften the hearts of these friends towards himself. Pray we can continue to build these relationships with the goal of sharing Christ with them.

Pray also for us as a family as we are beginning to go through different degrees of culture shock.

Praise the Lord for a much needed break from school for the kids. They are now home for a five week summer break.

Please continue to pray for us as a family as we are working towards becoming more comfortable in our new surroundings.

God is good and is at work in the lives of our friends. Please pray for our relationship building, not just so we have friends but that the gospel may be introduced into their lives for the first time.

    Thanks for your prayers.

    Chris

Please be in prayer for the relationships the Lord has brought our way in these first couple of months here in Japan. These friends have been an encouragement to us. Pray the Lord would lead them to himself.

Please also be praying for us as a family physically. We have been constantly going through different illnesses as our bodies are working to build new defenses.

Also, be in prayer for our children’s salvation. Pray for their continued success at school, both academically and relationally.

We are so thankful for how the Lord has helped our kids in the beginning of their new school year. He has brought so many people around from the community to help us.

Leanne and I started our language training on 4/21. Please pray the Lord helps us to acquire the language skills we need to be able to speak and share Christ through more than just our actions. The lack of being able to communicate even just a superficial conversation is hard. To have people all around us who we cannot even talk to about the weather, outside of pointing to the sky and saying it is good, is difficult. Thankfully this is a motivator to study the language, since we have so much more we want to share than our thoughts about the weather. Please pray for us as we enter into our study period of our first term.

  • Harrington Family Prayer Requests April 2015

We want to praise the Lord for his miracle provision of a wonderful home. It has been great to get a chance to settle in to our new routine.

Please be in prayer for us as Japanese school starts for Mark and Lillia on April 8th and Language school starts for Chris a couple days later. This will continue to be a stretching time for us as a family. Please be in prayer that we will be a shining light in a dark place as we go through all of these changes.

*Please be in prayer for us as we move into our miracle house. We praise the Lord for providing this home for us in such a miraculous way.

*Because of a labor dispute at the American ports on the west coast, our stuff that was shipped have been held up. Pray the union issues will be resolved quickly and that our things will be able to ship soon.

*Please also pray for our up coming decision on which school to put Mark into. May the Lord be preparing them for school as Mark and Lillia will be starting in early April.

Praise the Lord we have safely made it to Japan!! God is so good! It has been an encouragement to hear of all the Lord is already doing here. We look forward to learning the language and becoming more apart of the ministry here in the greater Sendai area.

Please be in pray for our upcoming move into our new miracle house. God has so graciously given us a place to live which has totally exceeded our expectations. The things we have had shipped to Japan have still not arrived so pray they will arrive soon.

  • Harrington Family Ministry Update January 2015

When a job at Nestle brought Leanne and me to Cleveland eight and a half years ago, we were true transplants. Despite having no family in the area (and knowing little about its lake effect snow!), our years here have been incredible. The Lord has being working in our lives throughout these years to help get us to this point of leaving for fulltime ministry in Japan.

You, Parkside Church, have been a key tool God has used to lead us in this direction. Now, as the date of our departure is drawing near, we feel as though we are leaving family. You have become our Cleveland family. This leaving process has been emotionally difficult, but God has been lovingly walking us through each phase. Thank you for your many prayers!
