We have had such a great response to our Parent's Nights that we want to offer more opportunities to 1. connect with you as parents of students, 2. connect you with other parents of middle school students, and 3. offer encouragements and resources on parenting adolescents.

To help facilitate this, we are hosting our next Parent's Potluck on Friday May 15th at 6:15pm at the Loft.

This dinner will feature Joe Schillero, who will address the topic of youth media and technology use. 

We are asking that those with the last name bring:

World Changers 2015

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

What is World Changers?

World Changers is a week-long missions trip in our own backyard! We'll set up camp at Bedford High School and spend the days working on projects throughout the Cleveland area. In the evenings, we'll attend evening sessions with worship and teaching.

When is World Changers?

We'll set out midday on Saturday July 18th and return late on Thursday July 23rd.

How much is World Changers?

The cost for this trip is $299. Partial and full scholarships are available.

How do I sign up for World Changers?

Fill out an online application here. A $50 deposit is also required to reserve your space since spots are limited. Applications are due May 10th.

Serving on Saturday

Location: Meet at Parkside Church
Start Time: Sat 25, April 2015, 1 p.m.
End Time: Sat 25, April 2015, 5 p.m.

Middle school students, join us on Saturday April 25th for Serving on Saturday where we will help clean up some elderly couples' yards for a few hours. Meet in the ground level Children's Wing at 10am where we'll gather into groups and head out to the homes. We will get lunch together after our work is done and return to Parkside Church by 2:00pm. Specific arrival time will be texted out. Please let your small group leader know if you plan to attend.

By helping in this way on Serving on Saturday, we as a middle school ministry will have the opportunity to give to these people something they can’t give to themselves, to love them (thus following Jesus’ commandments for us), and also to allow our students to see what it looks like to serve in a very ordinary way (there is nothing extraordinary about yard work). 

Dodge 2015

All middle school students join us on Friday March 27th at 6:00pm at the Warehouse for an awesome dodgeball tournament. Invite your friends! You can sign up in teams of 8 at Club JV or U-Turn, but if you don't have a team, just sign up by yourself and we'll find one for you! There will be pizza, snacks, drinks, a special guest speaker, and prizes for the winning team.

Parents Dessert and Discussion Night - Spring 2015

Hello Parkside Middle School parents and guardians,

This is an official invitation to attend Parents Dessert and Discussion Night-Spring 2015 on March 10th at the Loft!

Who: Led by Pastor Brandon Smith and the Adult Ministry Team offered for all parents and guardians of middle school students involved with Parkside Middle School Ministry.

What: A night to eat delicious desserts, drink refreshingly hot coffee, and dialogue with one another as we simultaneously escape the frozen tundra of Cleveland. This meeting will involve a presentation from Brandon, a time to meet and talk with Adult Ministry Team members, time to fellowship with other parents, and also to ask any questions you have about youth ministry at Parkside. At the very least, this meeting will involve an opportunity to eat cheesecake.

When: Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00 PM.

Mogul Mania 2015

Do you like skiing? Snowboarding? Tubing? Snow games? If you said "Yes!" to any of those questions, come with us on Mogul Mania!

On the Docket:

• Outside games and snow fun on Saturday
• Overnight accommodations at Mission Meadows, a camp in New York
• Winter fun activities including tubing, skiing, or snowboarding at Peek'n Peak Ski Resort on Sunday

Coming and Going:

Make sure you are at the Warehouse at 10:00am on Saturday morning. We will return Sunday at approximately 7:00pm to the Warehouse. We will post tweets to twitter.com/parksidems as to our exact arrival time.
