Baby Stuff Collection Drive

Parkside's young adult ministry will be holding a baby stuff collection drive during Sunday morning services on June 26 and July 3, in the lower level of the Commons.

This is a perfect excuse to clean out your garage or basement, and donate all your gently-used baby (0 to 12 months) clothes, blankets, toys, cribs, car seats, highchairs, strollers, infant swings & infant care items to a good cause and a new, appreciative home.

All donations will be re-distributed to local foster care mothers in need, through a partnership with Agape Outreach, a non profit philanthropic Christian counseling organization.

Volunteers Needed

At our :transit: large group meeting this week, a few welcomed guests will drop by.  On the evening of June 8, friends of :transit: Kim Marshall from Agape Outreach, and Mary McHugh, a local grassroots organizer, will tell us about our next community service opportunity for Summer 2011.

Kim and Mary have a ministry that helps people who can’t even ask for it yet.  They specialize in collecting gently used baby items, including clothing, blankets, toys, books, and major infant hardware like cribs, playpens and strollers, and redistributing them to underprivileged mothers and their children in Cleveland’s inner city.

To help them in their mission, :transit: will be sponsoring a baby stuff collection drive at Parkside Church, where we will collect donations of gently-used and new baby stuff during morning church services on June 26 and July 3.

In order to pull this off, WE NEED :transiteers: TO VOLUNTEER to receive these items from benevolent donors in the underground level of the Commons at Parkside.  You can sign up for one or more time slots (during any of Parkside’s 3 morning services on the 26th and/or 3rd) at the :transit: info tables, or by emailing Rachel Peteya at rpeteya@parksidechurch.com
