Scranton Road Book & Food Drive

In partnership with Scranton Road Bible Church (SRBC), we are collecting non-perishable food items and new or gently used children's books for families in the Cleveland area.

Each year, families who attend Parkside's Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) support a similar effort for SRBC through the canned food donations that are collected during VBC week. Over the years, we have collected thousands of cans! Even though VBC has been canceled for 2020, our effort to support those in need through SRBC continues. We invite you to partner with us either by donating food or books, or giving financially.

Food (Download a list here)

Throughout the month of May, as you shop for yourself, keep in mind some essential items that may be needed but are difficult to come by or can only be purchased in limited quantities. If you see these at the store, but do not need them yourself, please consider purchasing one or two to donate. Pantry needs include:

  • Cereal

  • Juice

  • Pancake Mix

  • Pancake Syrup

  • Instant Oatmeal

  • Spaghetti Sauce

  • Peanut Butter

  • Jelly

  • Fruit Snacks

  • Snack Crackers

  • Canned Meat

  • Canned Meals (Ravioli, Spaghetti O’s, etc.)

  • Ramen Noodles (Beef or Chicken)

  • Toilet Paper

  • Dish Soap

  • Hand Soap

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Bleach Wipes

  • Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol

  • Small Bottles of Bleach

Books

With libraries and schools closed, access to reading materials is very limited and many families do not have books in their home. To promote literacy, SRBC will be distributing the books we collect to families throughout Cleveland. Please consider donating any new or gently used books such as:

  • Jesus Storybook Bible

  • Children’s books (any age range)

  • Young Adults books

  • Coloring books
