About the James Family

Kep and Debbie James work with SIM in Bolivia's capital city. La Paz is the world’s highest capital city, with a population of 2 million. Kep and Debbie have been working more than 18 years in a church planting ministry in the southern suburbs of the La Paz. This area has a population of 400,000 people, up until recently has had little gospel witness. The “La Comunidad Church” has grown from 12 members at its outset in 1991 to about 200 today.

Our goal is to help unbelieving people become committed followers of Jesus Christ. Kep and Debbie´s ministry increasingly involves leadership development. Kep trains pastors and elders in the church, and began an in-church pastoral training center called “Equipping Servants”. Debbie prepares women and children leaders in evangelism, discipleship and Bible ministry. The La Comunidad Church is actively starting its first church plant in the Mallasia suburb of La Paz, and is raising up missionaries for gospel work in other parts the world.

Kep and Debbie are receiving full financial support from Parkside.
