  • Harvest Fest 2012

On Oct. 20, it will be time again for the biggest :transit: party of the year.  Won’t you join us at :transiteer: Lydia Reid’s family farm for :transit: HARVEST FEST 2012, a fabulous seasonal celebration of all things Autumnal?  Your entertainment for the evening is currently scheduled to include, at the very least:

  • Game Night

  • Desiring God Small Group Series

There are a lot of people who will try and tell you that holiness is all about suffering, as if to say that the more miserable you are, the closer to God you must be. By contrast, we submit to you that in reality, giving your life fully over to the obedience of God should be the most unabashedly hedonistic thing you’ll ever do. Learn more as the :transit: small groups present the Desiring God study series.  For times and locations of :transit: small groups, visit here.

  • Short Term Missions Opportunity

Parkside Church is sending a short-term missions team of college-age and young adults (ages 18-35) to Bolivia to help run a Vacation Bible School for children of missionaries.  If you are interested in being a part of the team, come to the Informational Meeting on Sunday March 25th at 11:15am in room 202.

  • Transit Volunteers at PDN

Parents Date Night (PDN) is a once-a-month service ministry of Parkside Church that does not actually involve you dating anyone’s parents. The idea is that volunteers sign up to watch children of all ages while Parksider parents, meanwhile, take advantage of a rare opportunity to spend some peaceful, civilized, grown-up time in fellowship with the other Parksider parents, or simply enjoy a quiet evening in.

Sign up for adventures in babysitting at the next PDN childcare night on Mar. 24 @ the Loft, and help look after and entertain babies, toddlers, or children up to age 12 with fellow :transiteers:.

The structure and events of the evening (gym activities, crafts, gaming, inflatables, etc. where applicable by age group, and movies after a pizza dinner for kids and volunteers) are all predetermined. All you have to do is register in advance, and show up to lend a helping hand. Roughly 14 volunteers are currently needed.

To join in on the fun, you must sign up in advance for this event on the sign-up sheet at the :transit: info tables, or email PDN volunteer coordinator Amy Cottle amy.cottle@sbcglobal.net.

  • Ruth Mini-Series

Visit us on a Wednesday night as we begin a mini series on the book of Ruth.

  • Valentine's Day Special

Instead of our usual :transit: large group meeting, we will be offering a special message on the topic of relationships and how to better understand and navigate them as Christians. Our speaker for the evening will be Pastor Jeff Mills from Parkside Church.

  • Last :transit: of 2011!

The last :transit: of 2011 will be on Wednesday December 7th.
