Transit Summer Series

If you’re between the ages of 18-35, home from college for the summer, or new to Parkside and looking for a place to connect with others and grow in your faith, there’s no better time to get plugged in to Transit, our ministry to young adults.

In a calendar year, Transit will reach anywhere from 150-200 people, some single, some married—many of whom will have significant life questions arise during their years participating in this ministry: Should I go to college? Go to graduate school? Should I date this person? Get married? Take this job?

For Matt Ross, Pastor of Young Adults, the name Transit is an apt descriptor, as the 20s and early 30s are a time of great transition for many. He understands the decision-making struggle all too well, and questions like these actually deepened his walk with the Lord after he came to faith. “I came to know Jesus as a college student,” he said, “but I had little wisdom when it came to thinking through these things for myself. The significance of key men who discipled me during that time helped lay a foundation for me to learn how to make decisions that were more informed by a biblical perspective.”

While Matt normally works through books of the Bible, in the summer—in addition to planning social outings like Guardians games, Whirlyball, and Nights at the Park—he takes time to examine topics that are particularly pressing in the minds of young adults. This summer, he’ll be working through a series called Knowing God’s Will. Taught over six sessions, and featuring speakers from a variety of life stages, Matt’s hope is to provide perspective and biblical wisdom on what can seem to be the toughest question of all: What is God's will for my life?

Transit meets on Wednesday nights 7:30-9:30 at The Loft, and the series begins on July 13. “It doesn’t matter if you’re new to Christianity, single or married, Transit is a great place to hear the good news of Jesus and connect with other young adults,” Matt said. “We have new people almost every week, and we invite you to come and find a place where you can build friendships, mature in Christ, and plug in with the wider church family at Parkside.”
