IT ADMINISTRATOR

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an IT Administrator to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems. This person will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our computing needs. The ideal candidate will be able to manage our current system while looking for ways to grow our networks in a cost-effective way to meet future needs. The IT Administrator will be responsible for developing network maintenance and growth plans, managing the MSP, as well as other vendors while keeping the executive team up to date on the latest networking technologies.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Knowledgabe in the following IT infrastructure (Microsoft Windows Client/Server environment, VMware, Ubiquiti or equivalent Wireless environment, Sonicwall Firewall, Mac OS, Microsoft Group Policy, Backup Exec/ Disaster recovery, Microsoft Exchange and Barracuda Cloud Spam control, Symantec Antivirus Endpoint Protection)
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate hardware and software needs and upgrade policies
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate telephone system needs and upgrades
  • Manage MSPs as well as other vendors and indepndent contractors
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Train or facilitate the training of new processes, procedures, or technologies as they are implemented 

 

ADMINISTRATOR SKILLS

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field equivilent
  • 5+ years’ experience in information technology management
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture server technology
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required
  • Ability to project manage and lead staff and/or vendors through technology transitions
