Potholes. Buckled pavement. Frost heaves. Incessant road construction. This is a part of life in Northeast Ohio. It seems you cannot go anywhere in Cleveland without running (or dropping) into some sort of roadway difficulty. It’s easy to pass the blame on a myriad of different things: inefficient government, crummy weather, slow construction crews—but the real issue is the foundation. It’s what lies underneath the roads that cause the real problem. The traffic and weather, passing endlessly over the roadways only reveal the structural and foundational weaknesses below.
Perhaps over the past few years in marriage you’ve experienced some of those potholes and fissures in marriage. Read more.

This past Saturday, Parkside Church welcomed more than 260 guests from area churches and communities to participate in a half-day workshop conducted by author, counselor, and professor, Winston T. Smith, M.Div., author of Marriage Matters: Extraordinary Change Through Ordinary Moments. The workshop was filled with practical, biblical advice about marriages and relationships, and participants -- young and old, married and single -- found the experience worthwhile.
It seems today you cannot turn on the television or keep from seeing a magazine in the grocery aisle that does not publicize the latest divorce, scandal or marriage problem of some famous Hollywood couple. The breakdown of marriage is prevalent in our culture. Likewise the church is not immune to this either; many couples in the church today need the help and hope of the gospel to see clearly the purpose of marriage.
Audio is now available from the Marriage Matters Workshop, which took place on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
We have moved the main sessions for the workshop from the Auditorium to the Commons. Check-in and breakfast begin at 8:00am in the Commons.
If you are bringing children with you, childcare is available beginning at 8:30 am.
Birth-24 months: Room 101
