Position Title: Driver | Reports To: Program Director | Position Status: Part-time (10 hrs/wk) | Availability: Routinely works Monday through Friday 7:30-9:30am (hours may vary based upon the needs of our members) | Pay: $19/hr | Job Summary: The Driver plays a vital role in enabling individuals to participate in a vibrant community full of purpose, growth and connection at our Day Club. As a driver, you get to share in the lives of wonderfully-made individuals and promote their quality of life by providing them with safe, timely and consistent transportation to/from Tru Community’s Day Club. We offer competitive pay rates, ongoing training, a positive work environment, and professional development opportunities. | Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) Be a positive, attentive, and caring presence in the lives of the individuals we serve 2) Complete transportation routes in a timely, safe, and professional manner 3) Follow organizational procedures for incident reporting and service documentation 4) Adhere to all safety requirements related to the use and maintenance of company vehicles 5) Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld at all times | Education and Work Experience: 1) High school diploma or equivalent (Required) 2) Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing, reliable transportation, and a driving record that will enable the employee to be insured 3) Previous experience in providing direct care or services to persons with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not necessary | Skills and Abilities: 1) Ability to pass BCI/FBI background check, database checks, and drug screening 2) Ability to complete CPR/First Aid/AED training 3) Satisfactory professional reference checks 4) Reliable attendance record; follow procedures for rescheduling or calling off 5) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and families 6) Ability to lift 50 pounds and traverse in a variety of environments || Tru Community complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment.
