American Cancer Society Relay For Life 2014

Relay for Life

What is Relay For Life?

Relay For Life is a fun filled, overnight event that offers everyone an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.  Teams of fmaily members, friends, co-workers and other join together each year to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and make a difference in the community.  In honor of those who battle cancer 24 hours a day, team members typically take turns walking the track throughout the day and night.

For those not walking, there is around the clock action to keep everyone busy. From entertainment, food, and games to touching ceremonies and stories of inspiration, there is something for everyone at RElay For Life. Join today and help the American Cancer Society Finish the Fight!

There are two local opportunities available to partner with the American Cancer Society in 2014:

June 13th-14th, 2014 - 6pm-Noon

Solon Middle School, 6835 Som Center Road, Solon

1.Start a Team. Relay For Life is a community driven, family-friendly event that is open to everyone. Teams can be formed with colleagues, friends, or family members. Register online at www.RelayForLife.org/SolonOH. Invite your friends, co-workers, and family to join you in the fight against cancer by joining your team or by donating to the cause.

2.Join the Committee. Our event committee has opportunities available to community members and business leaders who wish to make a difference in the fight against cancer. We welcome veteran Relayers as well as Relay Rookies to join the event committee. Share your time and talents with one of the most respected and recognized charities in the world right here in your town. To join the committee contact our American Cancer Society Staff Partner, Rachel McKelvey at Rachel.McKelvey@cancer.org

3.Sponsor the Event. Event sponsorship is crucial to the success of Relay For Life. Each year, businesses in Solon shoe their support for local cancer survivors, for the mission of the American Cancer Society, and for the dedicated community members that drive the event. Sponsoring Relay For Life is a way to show how dedicated you are to making this a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $5,000. Contact Rachel McKelvey for more information.

4.Be part of Relay Entertainment! Got a talent you want to share with your friends & family? Want to start a battle of the bands at Relay or run a Yoga or dance clinic for the community? Contact Rachel McKelvey to secure your timeslot on the event schedule.
