Volunteers Needed for Laura's Home Holiday Fair

Location: Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center
Start Time: Sat 7, Dec. 2013, 2 p.m.
End Time: Sat 7, Dec. 2013, 5 p.m.

As a member of the Body of Christ here in Cleveland, The City Mission has always had one central goal in mind- to reach hearts and change lives. The City Mission has been doing just that with the help of our volunteers, many of which are members of your church. Without them, we could not support the men, women, and children who walk through our doors every day.

With the Holiday Season just around the corner, we realize many people are looking to volunteer in a special way during this time of year. We have a wonderful opportunity to serve the women and children of Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center through our Holiday Fair, happening December 7 from 12-3pm. This is a great opportunity for both individuals and groups looking for a holiday service opportunity, as well as experiencing what The City Mission is all about.

Below is a description of the different opportunities for the Holiday Fair, as well as contact information for anyone who is interested:

• Day-Of Opportunities o Adopt a gift booth- we will be having booths for the children to purchase new, donated gifts for family members at a cost no higher than $2. There will be booths for girls’ gifts, boys’ gifts, and moms’ gifts.

? Groups who adopt a booth are responsible for providing donated gifts as well as bringing volunteers for the day of the event o Adopt a craft or game booth- we will be having booths featuring fun, holiday crafts and games for both children and moms to take part in. Games and Crafts are able to be developed and implemented by the group adopting the booth, so there is a lot of room for creative flexibility.

? Groups who adopt a booth are responsible for providing the necessary supplies for their craft or game, as well as bringing volunteers for the day of

• Day-Prior Opportunities o Volunteers are needed to help transform the space into a winter wonderland! We need help setting up tables and chairs, as well as decorating the room.

• Donation Opportunities o We are seeking donations of gift wrapping supplies, gifts for all ages, gifts for moms, shopping bags, and gift cards & bus tickets to use as prizes for the games.

• For more information, contact Leah Uveges or Katie Hartman in the Volunteer Department at (216) 431-3510 ext. 235 or at getinvolved@thecitymission.org

We would love to have your church members come alongside of us this Holiday Season to bring joy and hope to women and children in crisis. We hope and pray that this event will open a door for many to serve in the community and become the hands and feet of Christ at The City Mission.
