Dear Parkside Friends,

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel. It is a privilege for us to serve in Latin America with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). There is no doubt that much has changed in all our lives over the last several years, but God has kept doors open for ministry in all the countries where we serve.  

The Mexican team is serving some of the neediest people in the State of Oaxaca. 
Our flying with MAF opens doors for the gospel in isolated indigenous communities and provides opportunities to encourage new believers who face open opposition to their faith. Mike makes several trips a year to help with flights and maintenance. We collaborate with the Oaxaca Secretary of Health to move critically ill patients to better-equipped hospitals in the City of Oaxaca.

Sharing the Gospel

One of the special opportunities we have is to work alongside indigenous pastors like Pedro, Gavino, Ciprio, and Guadencio. They speak the heart language of the people and share the gospel in culturally appropriate ways. These pastors identify communities where the Parkside Dental Teams will work. The Parkside teams have been instrumental in making contacts in communities otherwise closed to the gospel. Demonstrating God’s love by meeting the physical needs of the people has eternal impact. We are often asked why these teams come to serve. This allows us to share the Good News.

2 Corinthians 12:1-10

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul recounts the gospel paradox: power in weakness. We experience God's grace and see his power not ultimately when he removes hardship from us, but when he strengthens us to walk through hardship. God is sovereign, wise, and good, and there is no weakness or affliction that he brings upon us that is ever wasted. It is precisely this picture of power made perfect in weakness, that reminds us of what Christ accomplished on the cross—a once and for all victory over sin and death.
