The Parkside Insider: April 16, 2021A Video Update from Alistair Begg on Indoor Gatherings
Please view the video update by clicking on the picture above.
Dear Parkside Family,
On April 8, Governor DeWine signed an amended health order which clarified the social distancing guideline as it applies to religious organizations. As a result of this amended order, the elders at Parkside have updated the guidelines we have in place for social distancing.
Please note: No change has been made to the Ohio mask mandate. Masks, properly worn, are still required while inside the building.
3 Updates to Indoor Gatherings:
Beginning this Sunday, April 18, all rows and seats in the Auditorium will be open for seating. We are greatly encouraged with this step toward a more normal worship experience, and we ask that you please continue to be considerate of your neighbor when choosing how closely you sit to others.
All indoor ministry events will also follow the new guidelines we have in place for Sunday worship: masks required, with freedom in how you social distance.
We ask those who are unable to wear a mask due to a medical exemption, to now worship in the Commons or via the livestream. This step will allow us to keep the Auditorium as safe as possible as we add people back into this space on Sundays.
We are grateful to the Lord for each one of you and are thankful for your attention and understanding throughout the many Covid adjustments. We recognize that this news may be met with mixed reactions, but we hope that for many, it is an encouraging step as we seek to care for the congregation and honor Christ.
During his reign, King David struck down his enemies according to God’s purposes, which were to enact judgment against those who opposed His rule and to preserve a people for Himself. Examining David’s military victories in 2 Samuel 8, Alistair Begg encourages us to see the king’s actions as a foreshadow of the future ultimate victory of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this day, we wait in eager expectation for Christ’s return, when He will subdue every foe—even death—beneath His feet.
This week we said goodbye to one of our Pastoral Team members, Brandon Smith, as he and his wife move to Cincinnati. Brandon began as a pastoral resident in 2013 and joined the pastoral team upon completion of the residency. For the past seven years, Brandon has served in various roles including middle school, young adults, care ministries, community involvement, and has led a Sunday Morning Group.
We need 200+ adult and student volunteers to serve at Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) during the week of June 21-25 from 9am-Noon. Training is provided in advance.
