Urgent Warnings from the Past

Evening Service
Jun 8, 2014

The Corinthian church was outwardly orthodox, but faced the temptation to indulge in a lifestyle that accompanied the pagan worship of the surrounding culture. In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul provided the necessary reminders that no one is immune from temptation or exempt from obedience to the Word of God. As Dan Larison explains, this word of warning also comes with an encouragement: although we cannot withstand temptation on our own, God always provides an avenue of escape from temptation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
