  • Book Recommendation: The Christ of Christmas

The Christmas story evokes gentle images of halos, fresh hay, shepherds carrying newborn lambs, the beauty of young motherhood and the frailty of the baby lying in the manger surrounded by animals gazing fondly at the new arrival. These timeless images soften the hearts of Christmas church-goers all over the world. But, as James Montgomery Boice’s The Christ of Christmas illustrates, the story is more than just sentimental.

  • Extending our Reach for Gospel Growth: Lake County Church Plant

At the start of 2011, Parkside's leadership team presented their vision for Building into the Next Generation which rests squarely on the importance of gospel relationships. As God continues to guide our steps towards fulfilling this vision, we are blessed to have the opportunity to extend our reach for gospel growth through the establishment of a regional church in Lake County.

  • Celebrate Christmas

With the holiday season well underway, it's time to direct our thoughts and prayers to the the message and meaning of Christ Jesus’ birth. Parkside Church will be celebrating through words and music throughout the month of December. Here are some of key dates to keep in mind...

  • Book Recommendation: How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home

In How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home, Dr. Derek W. H. “It’s kind of funny that I’m a MIT,” laughs Chris Harrington, who is Parkside’s newest extension of the pastoral team as a Missionary in Training, a.k.a. • Beginning November 6, A New Resource for Parkside: The ESV Bible

As a leadership team, we have prayerfully thought it best to make the switch to the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible. Recently, the NIV (New International Version) Bible translation team has made a revision in their philosophical approach. As a church family, we sense that the ESV is better suited in its translation philosophy for us as we maintain our commitment to study and teach the Bible. It is with a measure of reluctance that we make this move, but it will better prepare the way for us and future generations. We will address this further at our Annual Meeting on October 30 at 7pm.

  • Dear Parkside Church Members

Looking back at 2010 provides countless reasons to thank God for his faithfulness to Parkside. Sinners were saved and saints were being sanctified as his word was faithfully proclaimed each Sunday and through the preaching of the Word each one was being equipped “to do the good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do.”
