  • The Macedonian Recall

We know that Paul received a unique Macedonian call, but is there such a thing as a Macedonian re-call?

  • Ministry Profile: The Dustbusters

Every Friday, a small and dedicated group of Parkside’s faithful meet to help prepare the church’s 1,600-seat auditorium for Sunday services. They are only eight volunteers strong, and they are a humble group who enjoys their anonymity. This close-knit group values the friendships and fellowship that stem from serving the Lord together. They are affectionately known as The Dustbusters.

  • Bringing Truth to More People

For the past fifteen years, Truth For Life has worked to distribute Alistair Begg’s Bible-teaching messages to listeners far beyond Cleveland by way of a daily radio broadcast. Workshop Opportunity: How People Change

    Location: Fellowship Hall
    Start Time: Sat 3, March 2012, 11 a.m.
    End Time: Sat 3, March 2012, 4 p.m.

As we begin a new year together at Parkside Church, I’m reminded of the vision put forth by our elders and pastoral team. That vision was one of extending our reach for gospel growth which would be realized as each one of us invested in gospel relationships. There is no other greater work to be a part of.

    Boys

    Location: The Warehouse
    Start Time: Fri 20, Jan. 2012, 8:30 p.m.
    End Time: Fri 20, Jan. 2012, 10 p.m.

What do you get when you combine elementary-aged boys, balls of various types, pizza, and the Warehouse on a Friday night? You get a Boys’ Game Night event (BGN) that is all about good, old-fashioned “boy fun.” Boys’ Game Nights occur 3-4 times a year and are open to any boys in Kindergarten-5th grade. Boys must be in attendance with a male adult (dad, grandpa, uncle, friend), and we hear stories that the adults have just as much fun (maybe more?) as the kids do!

  • Book Recommendation: Note to Self: The Discipline of Preaching to Yourself

We need good preaching—preaching that challenges us by God’s Word and brings the comfort that comes from God’s promises. Yet many of us rely solely on others to preach to us and are not benefitting from the kind of preaching that should be most consistent and personal—preaching to ourselves.

  • Snow Days

It’s December 14th and as Pastor Dan Southam looks out his office window (I don’t have one) he doesn’t see snow anywhere. But I know that it’s coming. We're in Ohio. And if there’s one thing I know about snow, it’s this -- snow means skiing.
