We are LOOKing for Sunday Morning Children
What do Children’s Ministry Workers LOOK like?
- People who like to have fun (what beats play dough & animal crackers?)
- People who like a challenge (some of our classroom puzzles are really hard!)
- People who like to learn (are you smarter than a 5th grader? Kids ask tough questions!)
- People who want to build relationships with others
- People who are members and regular attendees of Parkside for a minimum of six months
- People of all ages and stages of life—teens, singles, couples, retirees
- People who love the Lord Jesus Christ and who desire to see the next generation come to know and love Christ

Book Recommendation: What is a Healthy Church Member?
Jenny surprised me when she started crying during our membership interview. The first twenty minutes of the interview were fairly routine. She recounted her childhood growing up in a Christian home, her high school years filled with fear, and a period of living as a prodigal during college. Then she recalled with some joy her conversion experience in a hometown local church.

SUMMER SEAQUEST HAS DOCKED
It’s hard to believe that another week of VBS has come and gone so quickly! We have a few words of appreciation to share:
- Thank you to all the parents who gave us the privilege of having their children these past five days. We pray that you and your family have been drawn closer to the Lord through this week.
- Thank you to all the VBS volunteers who served. From student helpers to adults, your service is GREATLY appreciated.
- Thank you to our VBS Leadership Team who began work on Summer Seaquest back in March. Your prayers, planning, and tireless preparations made this week (with God’s help) a great one! -
The Gospel and Humor

Humor is like seasoning on food—everything is flat without it. But something was amiss here. I began to ask myself, “Does the gospel have an effect on our sense of humor?” The answer has to be yes—but why and how?

SUMMER SEAQUEST “SEACRETS”
Did you know:
- The three Explorers who “swam” the farthest to attend SSQ are: Danielle from Nevada, Jory & Josiah from Ontario, Canada, and Emmaline from New York. Those are amazing journeys! We are thankful for EVERY Explorer who has come this week, whether from close by or far away (feel a song coming on? “away, away, away, away”)
