    FAMILY CELEBRATION, THURSDAY, JUNE 23

Each year at VBS, we have a Family Night where parents, grandparents and friends come see what we’ve been up to all week! This year, our Family Sailing Celebration & Ice Cream Social (say that three times fast!) has some changes. Here are a few details to know:

  • VBS Tuesday Newsletter

AHOY, MATIES! DID YOU INVITE A FRIEND TO SSQ?

This year, for every paid registration ONE friend can come for FREE!  Have you invited a friend to join our high seas adventure?  It’s not too late, so think of who you’d like to invite, and ask your friend today.  EVERY GUEST MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE GOING TO THE GROUP ROW.  Please stop at the registration table in the front foyer.   We would love to fill up our Homeport with excited Sea Explorers who can help us chart our course to Ninevah!

  • VBS Monday Newsletter

    ANCHORS AWEIGH, SHIPMATES!

We’ve raised the gangplank and cast off on our week-long sea adventure!  Our course is charted for ancient Nineveh and along the way we’ll learn about the prophet Jonah, the compassion of God, and how to have a relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our Guide for this high seas adventure is the Lord God Himself.  Our Quest for this week-long voyage is to only “worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and land.”

  • Service Opportunity: Baby Stuff Collection Drive

Parkside's young adult ministry, :transit:, will be holding a baby stuff collection drive during Sunday morning services on June 26 and July 3, on the lower level of the Commons.

  • PKS on the Patio

This summer we are planning on taking the evening service outside on the Commons lawn area for PKS on the Patio. Bring a lawn chair with you for a relaxed evening of singing, conversation and encouragement from the Bible. Stick around for a while afterwards and talk with someone new or a friend that you haven't seen in a while. If it rains we will move things inside to the Auditorium.

  • A Note from the Leadership Team about this Sunday

When we initially introduced the vision for Parkside’s future back in January we thought it best to set aside three 60-day periods to specifically focus on this vision as a church family. The first 60 days we devoted ourselves to prayer for God’s wisdom and leading. Followed by 60 days to individually pray and consider how we all may prayerfully and financially support the vision. Currently, we are taking 60 days to thank God for all He has done and will do through Parkside Church. We are thankful for how He has been merciful and gracious to us over the many years but especially in these last six months.

  • Book Recommendation: Humilitas

In his new book, Humilitas: A Lost Key to Life, Love, and Leadership, Dr. Dickson sets forth his thesis that true greatness and genuine fulfillment can only be achieved by recognizing the virtue of true humility. By defining humility as "holding power loosely for the sake of others," Dr. Dickson posits that humility is essential for turning one's gifts and strengths into true greatness in all areas of life.

  • Christianity Explored

Among the core goals for Parkside’s vision for the future is the development of gospel relationships for gospel growth. Earlier this month, Basics Conference guest speakers, John Dickson and Rico Tice, reminded us that we are all called to do the work of an evangelist, speaking the truth in love, growing up into Christ and being multiplied.

  • Holiday Service Schedule

We will have our services on May 29 at 8:30am, 9:45am, and 11:15am, but no evening service. There will be childcare (birth-K) but no other classes or LIFE groups. The church offices, bookstore and café will be closed on May 30. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
