The Parkside Insider: October 29, 2021
From left to right: Noah Senthil, Samuel Sanya, and Andrew Johnson

Parkside Church’s pastoral residency offers opportunities to practice Biblical teaching in a variety of ministry settings, observe and assist in the leadership of adult and youth ministries, and participate in our pastoral staff meetings, general church functions, and more. Our goal is to see young men developed and prepared for full-time ministry through growth in: Christ-like character, core convictions, ministry competence, appreciation of a Christ-centered church's culture, and clarity of calling.

Every fall, a new set of men join us for a year-long experience. Throughout the year, they observe each ministry and are mentored by our pastors. Parkside is committed to working with the residents to help them find the next opportunity, whether it be in seminary, at a local church, or other setting. For more information about our program, visit the Parkside Residency website.

The new pastoral residents at Parkside Church are a unique set of men who are here to discern their callings. What the three residents share is a strong sense of seeking wisdom to discern whether pastoral ministry is right for them....

Last Week's Sermon From
2 Samuel 17:1–14

After rebelling against his father, King David, Absalom sought counsel from David’s former servant, Ahithophel. A traitor to the crown, Ahithophel entreated Absalom to grant him permission to kill David himself. But the Lord had ordained to defeat Ahithophel’s counsel by causing Absalom to seek secondary advice. This interplay between the sovereignty of God and human responsibility, notes Alistair Begg, is the divine fulcrum upon which life hinges, showing us that God is at work in everything to bring about His good purposes.
