If you are searching for a home church or just beginning to consider the claims of Christ, we hope you’ll join us this Sunday to sing, pray, and study the Bible.
This week, we had the privilege of hosting over 1300 pastors and Christian workers at our annual Basics Conference.
A mix of Bible teaching, breakout sessions, and meals, our conference aims to encourage and equip pastors to do the basics of Christian ministry well. This year, our theme was “The Pastor as Disciple Maker,” and our attendees had the privilege of hearing from Rico Tice, Andy Gemmill, Terry McCutcheon, Matt Boswell, Alistair and others.
In addition to receiving rich teaching from the Bible, our guests were also warmly received by the people of Parkside. Before, during, and after the conference, they were served by volunteers from the church who helped set up the building, offered rides to and from the airport, hosted men in their homes, served them meals, and led them in worship.
On behalf of the entire staff at Parkside, I would like to thank everyone who gave of their time and energy to bless the attendees: whether you were praying for them, helping them register, answering their questions, teaching them, or cleaning up after them, thank you for serving Christ and helping make Basics possible.
Please continue to pray for the pastors who were with us, that God might encourage them as they labor for the maturity of those in their congregations through the proclamation of Christ (Col. 1:28-29).

As the school year comes to a close, we have only one more date each for Play Groups (May 14) and Preschool Story Time (May 21). Mark these dates on your calendar for play time fun for children, birth through age 5, and story time fun for children, ages 2-1/2 to 5.
High school students, help us celebrate the Class of 2019! Join us on May 17 for a formal dinner at the Venue and then we’ll head over to the Warehouse for dessert and fun. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend.
If you are caring for someone with memory issues, join us for a free lunch with Pastor Nick Spurgeon who will lead a time of sharing, encouragement, and prayer. Care and lunch will also be available for your loved one in Room A226.
Invite a friend for dinner and an Akron Rubber Ducks baseball game on May 24. We have reserved The Duck Club suite which features a premium buffet dinner and great views of Canal Park.
Our special needs ministry has an immediate need for more helpers to join our Faithful Friends, Jr., team! We offer class at 9:45am and 11:15am, and most of our children need one-on-one care. On-the-job training will be provided.
