After a prolonged period of silence, God’s word came to His people through a devout Jewish man named Simeon. In accordance with the law, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple to present Him to the Lord. When Simeon beheld Jesus, he took Him in his arms and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, declared that he could die in peace because his eyes had seen God’s salvation.
