- Supported Workers: Goran (& Beth) Tomic, Matt (& Laura) Pheneger, Jon (& Ruthie)
- Country: United States of America
- Details: An Ambassadors girls’ team from our area traveled to Peru, played four of the best soccer clubs in Lima, and put on soccer clinics there. Doors opened for more ministry and many working in challenging areas of Lima were encouraged. Twenty kids have been saved through the club, with several of them getting baptized. New churches are starting football ministries, and the Ambassadors staff there is running regular tournaments to bring the churches together. Goran is working with a group of European leaders gathering in October in Slovakia. Please pray for unity and for ways to encourage one another to serve and work together as God builds his church there. Many missionaries from Latin America are being called to share the gospel in Europe and Eastern Europe, where they can benefit due from the lower cost of living. Soccer schools and academies are a way to engage local communities. Pray for wisdom as Ambassadors Football provides help and guidance in partnership with their Brazilian brothers. Malawi (Africa). Population: 22,216,120 Believers: 19.6%. Malawi faces serious challenges in the future, such as the combination of poverty, high population growth, and increasing pressure on agricultural land. The grip of poverty hampers development not only in the financial sense but also in terms of education, AIDS prevention, family life, and even effective ministry and discipleship. Pray for leaders in Malawi, most of whom are church members, to act with wisdom, humility, and long-term planning on biblical principles. From Operation World DVD-ROM 2010 and www.operationworld.org
