Dear Parents of Incoming Freshmen,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying spring! As the summer approaches, it is my privilege to invite your graduating 8th grader to the High School Ministry of Parkside Church. Speaking on behalf of all of our adult leaders, we are excited to welcome the class of 2018! Given that moving from middle school to high school can often be a daunting prospect for students, I wanted to write and let you know of a few opportunities to make that transition easier.

World Changers 2014

What is World Changers?
World Changers is a week-long missions trip in our own backyard! We'll set up camp at Bedford High School and spend the days working on projects throughout the Cleveland area. In the evenings, we'll attend evening sessions with worship and teaching.
When is World Changers?
This year we've added a few days. We'll set out midday on Saturday July 19th and return late on Friday July 25th.
How much is World Changers?
The cost for this trip is $299. Partial and full scholarships are available.
How do I sign up for World Changers?
Fill out an online application here. A $50 deposit is also required to reserve your space since spots are limited.

- Senior Night is May 16th. Seniors are invited to join us for a special dinner, freshman, sophomores, and juniors will join us for a celebration at the Warehouse afterwards.
- Student Impact Freshman Welcome is June 5.
- Freshman are Rafting Trip is June 23-25.
- World Changers begins on a Saturday this year, July 19-25.

Real Retreat 2014
Location: Green Campus
Start Time: Fri 4, April 2014, 9:15 p.m.
End Time: Sat 5, April 2014, 10 p.m.
What is the Real Retreat? We like to think of it as almost an anti-retreat. That means that there are not a lot of games. It's a more serious time for the student who is interested in learning about or growing in his or her relationship with Christ.
This year we're talking about being crazy busy. Is it inevitable? Is it healthy? What's the antidote to being needlessly busy? It's going to be a great weekend!
The cost is $50 and includes transportation, lodging, snacks, and three meals. You will need to bring money for dinner on the road Saturday night. Registration will close on Monday March 31st.
Be at the Warehouse at 6:15pm on Friday April 4th where we will enjoy a meal together before leaving for the Green Campus. We will return to the Warehouse on Saturday April 5th at 7:00pm. As always, you can check @parksidehs for a more accurate arrival time.
Bring a Bible, pen, sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, flashlight, toiletries, and warm clothes.

March-April Calendar Revision
We've made some changes to our March and April calendar. Of note:
- The Real Retreat has been moved to the weekend of April 4-5.
- Movieology previously scheduled on April 11th has been cancelled.
- There is no Student Body on Sunday March 30th.

We will be heading out to Seven Springs Resort on February 1-2 for some winter fun!Saturday we'll be spending the day at Laurel Mountain Christian Camp (don't worry, its sweet). Plenty of fun inside and out are on the agenda. Sunday we're over at Seven Springs hitting the slopes.
