Friday December 6th is the Coffee House. We'll have hot chocolate, Christmas karaoke, games, a prize for the tackiest christmas sweater, a fun photo-booth... and the list goes on. The evening begins at 7:30pm at the Loft (immediately next door to the Warehouse, 31200 Solon Rd, Solon OH).  Each year we pick one charity or foundation to support and this year we've chosen Alternaterm.  Alternaterm Pregnancy Services is a Christ-centered ministry that works to preserve life and support ladies and families dealing with issues of sexual responsibility and pregnancy. They're a wonderful organization.

Students get free admission to the Coffee House by bringing one or more of these items:

  • Formula, Cereal & Baby Food
  • New Infant and Toddler Toys
  • Wipes, baby wash, shampoo, baby lotion, etc.
  • Disposable diapers in any size
  • Sleepers, Onesies
  • Infant clothing up to size 18 months

How your student can be involved:
If there are jobs or projects that can help them raise money to purchase these items, it helps students invest instead of simply asking a parent to invest for them. Another idea was to have students offer to give up one of their Christmas presents (before it's purchased) and take the money that would have gone to that present to buy a gift or item from the list for a young family. It's a neat way for students to embrace the example offered by Paul in Acts 20:35 "In all things I have showed you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than receive.'"
