Pastoral Transition at Parkside Church
- July 2025 Update: On July 13, Danny Schillero was elected as Parkside's next senior pastor.
Pastor Danny Schillero, the second oldest of seven, has been part of Parkside Church since he was in first grade. He attended Sunday School and then participated in Parkside’s Middle and High School Ministries, which shaped his faith from an early age.
Danny graduated from Moody Bible Institute, and sensing a call to the ministry, he pursued further studies and obtained his M.Div. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kentucky. Upon graduation, Danny served as the youth pastor at Parkside Green for a year before joining the Parkside Bainbridge team as a pastoral assistant. In 2013, he was tasked with leading the middle school ministry, where he worked closely with Jon Cameron, then pastor of the high school ministry.
In 2014, Danny married Emily and became the high school pastor at Parkside. He served and led student ministry for several more years, adding to his responsibilities the oversight of the Pastoral Residency Program in 2017 with Dan Larison. In 2022, he began leading the Women’s Ministry at Parkside. A year later, Danny was given leadership of the Men’s and Women’s Ministries, shared leadership of Missions and Community Groups alongside Dan Larison, and continued to oversee Student Ministry.
Throughout his time at Parkside, he’s taught regularly, counseled individuals and couples, conducted funerals and weddings, and developed and written resources that are now widely used across Parkside ministries. They are:
- Why Should I Believe: 10 Reasons to Consider the Christian Life
As well as three expository studies:
- Romans 1-8, Romans 9-16, Shadows of Jesus
Danny and Emily live in Solon and have four children: Leo Penny, Rory, and Stella.
