What True Greatness Is

Evening Service
Apr 14, 2019

The pursuit of greatness is a powerful driving force. Mark 10 records the disciples James and John jostling for what they believed would be positions of authority and recognition when Christ would come into His kingdom. Their perception of greatness, like many of ours, was skewed. Rather than through self-seeking gestures and promotion, true greatness is best displayed in the midst of hardship and suffering as we pursue the interests of others over our own. When our definition of greatness is aligned with God’s view, we recognize the ultimate example is His dear Son, Jesus Christ.
