Salvation Belongs to the Lord
When God called the prophet Jonah to preach repentance to the Ninevites, Jonah disobeyed and ran from God. Because of God’s great love for Jonah, God disciplined him by having a fish swallow him where he remained for three days. Jonah eventually confessed his sin recognizing that this means of discipline also provided his salvation. Because of His steadfast love, God orchestrated the salvation of Jonah just as he has the salvation of each person who comes to Him through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
