Running Into God's Rest
After Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land, they enjoyed a time of peace and freedom. That period of rest, however, doesn’t compare to the perfect, complete, and eternal rest Jesus promises. But His promises don’t extend to everyone! Only those who fear Christ and persevere in faith and obedience will be spared from God’s wrath. Noting this truth, the writer of Hebrews urgently warns us against becoming complacent in our faith or casual about our sin.
