Resisting the Devil
Scripture is clear that we will face hardship in this life. 1 Peter 5 calls believers to resist the evil one by being vigilant, for he is always looking for ways to plague us with fear and doubt. We must resist his schemes by trusting in the finished work of Christ, and walking with other believers. And finally, we must resist him by resting in the promise of God—that he himself will restore us and be our eternal reward. “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
