Gathered Under the Word: Preach the Gospel
Paul’s final charge to Timothy—“Preach the Word”—is a solemn command before God and Christ, urging gospel proclamation as the heart of our gathered times together as a church. In 2 Timothy 4, Paul emphasises that The Word is not biblically informed moral advice but the Christ-centered message of God’s redeeming grace revealed in all Scripture. Because people naturally drift toward teachings that please themselves, the church must be anchored in the gospel—consistently, wisely, and patiently preached. Only through steadfast proclamation will God’s people persevere in faith, resist deception, and be strengthened to fulfill their gospel calling.
