A Prayer for a Worthy Life
In the opening of his letter to the Colossians, Paul gives thanks and prays that the church would be filled with wisdom and the knowledge of God’s will so they may grow in Christlikeness. It is only through the finished work of Christ—not our own efforts—that we can please God. A healthy Christian life is marked by gratitude flowing from what God has accomplished for us in Christ. God does not love us because we are worthy, but because of his love, we can abide in him and bear spiritual fruit.
