When Jesus commanded Peter to let down his fishing nets, Peter obeyed even though they had previously come up empty. Pulling in an amazing amount of fish, Peter confessed his sin and acknowledged that Jesus was Lord. In response to Christ’s call to become “fishers of men,” he and the other disciples left everything they had to follow Jesus. Just as He commissioned His disciples to spread the Gospel, Jesus calls each of His followers to a life committed to Him and to inviting others to become part of God’s family.
