In many ways, Saul and David were complete opposites. The king was hateful, fearful, and full of bravado, while the shepherd boy was self-effacing and clearly blessed by the Lord. Yet even David would succumb to pride. Contrasting the two men, Alistair Begg points us forward to Christ, the only King who possesses perfect humility and sincerity.
