The Gospel for Today
In preparing His disciples for the events of His death and resurrection, Jesus promised His followers that despite the difficulties faced in this life, in Christ we have joy, we are loved by God, and we know peace. Though there are times when we do not feel joyful, Pastor Mike Wilmer teaches listeners that circumstantial happiness and eternal joy are not the same, and when we are tempted to joylessness, the antidote is to faithfully remind ourselves of the Gospel. Because of Christ’s atoning work, there exists nothing that can steal the Christian’s joy.
