The Fatherhood of God
Before all things, God is our Father. All his works—in creation and in providence—flow first from his fatherly heart. He seeks not servants, but sons and daughters; not mere obedience, but love. Yet because of sin, each of us is broken. In his mercy, God promises to be a Father to the fatherless and to draw near to the brokenhearted. Through the perfect obedience and atoning death of his Son, God made a way for our ruin to be redeemed. Because of Christ, all who are called by the Father have been adopted into his family and now share with Christ in every spiritual blessing.
