Compassion and Authority
When Jesus miraculously healed an invalid on the Sabbath, reactions were mixed. The hopelessly desperate man immediately received and obeyed Jesus. The religious—but godless—officials immediately rejected and plotted against Christ. Focused only on the rules, they failed to recognize God. It’s only when we trust Jesus and bow to His authority that we can joyfully rest in His finished work.
