Supported Worker: Equipping Servants International (ESI)
Details: Equipping Servants International (ESI), Africa, Europe, and the Americas ESI is a three-year mutual-discipleship process. Believers study Scripture at home and then meet weekly in small groups to discuss what God is teaching them. There are 3,200 participants studying the Bible in 270 ESI groups in 35 countries in North and South America, Africa, and Europe. Pray for Pastor Jose Gutierrez, Pastor Sebastian Moreno, Pastor Edgar Mamani, Paulo da Silva, and Isaac Chitibwe. These leaders train and build up ESI teams around the world. This fall, Kep and Debbie met with ESI leaders and were deeply encouraged hearing testimonies of how God is shaping many lives by the power of his gospel. Pray for their upcoming ESI Facilitator Training in Costa Rica on February 5–7. Azerbaijan (Asia). Population 10,462,904 Believers: 0.2%. God raised up an Azeri church, even amidst trials! Only 40 known Azeri believers lived in the country in 1991. Now there may possibly be as many as 10,000, with the majority in Baku. Even more ethnic Azeris follow Christ inside of Iran. Even so, most Christians in Azerbaijan are primarily of foreign ethnicities (Armenian, Russian, Georgian, others). Pray for good fellowship among all the believers.
