- Details: The City Mission, United States Pray for the Crossroads Center, which offers men in crisis a place to rest, refocus, and be restored through the transforming power of God’s love; for the ministry of Laura’s Home, a bridge from crisis to stability for women and children; and for the staff and volunteers who serve Christ by caring for these men, women, and children. The core values of The City Mission are built on the belief that we are called to serve Christ and others and that God transforms lives. Pray for the staff and volunteers as they commit to work together caring for every person, knowing all are made in the image of God. Cabo Verde Islands (Africa). Population: 527,326 Believers: 6.6%. Economic and ecological problems must be wisely addressed. Scant resources were poorly managed in the past, intensifying Cape Verde’s poverty. Pray for government leaders who will make good decisions and develop the economy for the betterment of the whole nation. Cayman Islands (Caribbean). Population: 75,844 Believers: 21.3%. With one church for approximately every 500 people, Christian faith and values should (and do) have a significant influence on society—pray that this may continue to be the case amid the materialism and hedonism. The new constitution includes recognition of the Christian heritage of the Cayman Islands. Pray that God’s sovereign power would not only be acknowledged in documents but lived out with joy! The Parkside Membership Course is a three-week series that gives an overview of who we are and what we believe as a church. The course meets on the first three Sundays of each month, except for certain holiday Sundays. The classes do not need to be completed sequentially and you do not need to pre-register to attend. This is a great course for those looking to become members as well as those interested in finding out more about Parkside Church. The next series of classes begins Sunday, October 5th, at 10:30am in Room B208.
