- Details: Ruth (& Artis) Powell, United States, Zambia Thank the Lord for the three After School Bible Clubs that have started in public schools in Cleveland and Euclid since the beginning of the school year. Two more clubs will start soon. They are thankful that the administrators in these buildings have been so welcoming. Pray that God will raise up people who live near Cleveland or Euclid to help. Please pray for the salvation of the boys and girls as God’s Word is shared. In one of the clubs, only one of the four students had ever seen a Bible before. Continue to pray for ESI groups in Zambia to continue to be strong and for other outreaches in Zambia. Burundi (Africa). Population: 14,390,003 Believers: 27.0%. The socio-political situation is one of cautious hope, due to the decades-old enmity between Tutsi and Hutu that boiled into a violent eruption claiming 300,000 lives in the 1990s. Pray for genuine respect and cooperation as these two peoples build Burundi’s future together. Due to the past violence and current poverty, leadership for the churches is in short supply. The Parkside Membership Course is a three-week series that gives an overview of who we are and what we believe as a church. The course meets on the first three Sundays of each month, except for certain holiday Sundays. The classes do not need to be completed sequentially and you do not need to pre-register to attend. This is a great course for those looking to become members as well as those interested in finding out more about Parkside Church. The next series of classes begins Sunday, October 5th, at 10:30am in Room B208.
