- Details: Chris & Leanne Harrington, Japan A couple of months ago, Chris and Leanne asked for prayer for Ms. N, a baby Christian who had just received her Bible. Ms. N has been reading her Bible and asking many questions. She would like to get baptized and is taking the church’s baptism classes. Ms. N comes from a deeply spiritual family that worships idols and ancestors. She faces heavy spiritual warfare every day. She lives with her parents and takes care of them but would like to move out because she is constantly surrounded by these actively worshiped idols. Please pray that God would give this new sister in Christ wisdom in how to live out her newfound faith. British Virgin Islands (Caribbean). Population: 39,732 Believers: 27.3%. The motto of the Virgin Islands is “Where there’s no vision, the people will perish.” Pray that local Christians might recover a powerful vision for the lost in their own islands and abroad. Brunei (Asia). Population: 466,331 Believers: 6.1%. Islam dominates life in Brunei with a brand that is conservative but not radical. Pray for an atmosphere of religious freedom and spiritual openness and for the observance of the constitutional right for other religions to be practiced. The Parkside Membership Course is a three-week series that gives an overview of who we are and what we believe as a church. The course meets on the first three Sundays of each month, except for certain holiday Sundays. The classes do not need to be completed sequentially and you do not need to pre-register to attend. This is a great course for those looking to become members as well as those interested in finding out more about Parkside Church. The next series of classes begins Sunday, October 5th, at 10:30am in Room B208.
