We invite you on to watch a thanksgiving video on the life and legacy of Derek Prime.
Derek Prime was a pastor at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh for many years, was a mentor and dear friend to Alistair Begg, and went home to be with Lord this past March. "He was constantly reminding us that, along with him, we were stewards of the gospel," said Alistair, in his written reflection on Derek for Banner of Truth magazine.
If you haven't had the opportunity to get to know Derek through his teaching or writing, we encourage you to watch this video of a man who faithfully taught the Scriptures and reminded each one to "love what is good," according to the encouragement found in Titus 1:8.

In partnership with Scranton Road Bible Church (SRBC), we are collecting non-perishable food items and new or gently used children's books for families in the Cleveland area. Each year, families who attend Parkside's Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) support a similar effort for SRBC through the canned food donations that are collected during VBC week. Over the years, we have collected thousands of cans! Even though VBC has been canceled for 2020, our effort to support those in need through SRBC continues. We invite you to partner with us either by donating food or books, or giving financially. Learn More>
Four Thousand Orchids
On Wednesday morning, a white semi-truck backed into the Parkside Church parking lot and dropped off pallets containing over 4,000 full-size potted orchid plants. This was one of many trucks sent out by Green Circle Growers to drop off donations of over 50,000 orchids to cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Tampa, and Cleveland. “We realized our nation's healthcare workers have been experiencing some of the darkest days of our lifetimes. If our orchids can provide a bit of joy and color for these very deserving individuals, we felt it was the least we could do during this difficult time." Scott Giesbrecht, Co-CEO of Just Add Ice and Green Circle Growers said in a statement. Four local churches volunteered to help the company disperse the flowers in Cleveland.

Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, describes the believer as both salt: a preserving influence in the world against the corruption of sin, and light: offering the hope of Christ to a world shuttered by darkness and unbelief.
Believers may see this description as a task to be undertaken each day, a burdensome responsibility—just one more thing for the Christian to do. However, once we understand that this is who Christ has declared us to be, it reorients our perspective. We are salt; we are light. This isn't another work. It is who we are in Christ.
Join us for this three-week study as we examine how we should think about our witness to the world, especially in this time when many around us are questioning and searching for truth.
