Summer Support Groups

Summer Support Groups

We all go through difficult times, and we all have the responsibility and privilege to come alongside each other and support each other through these difficulties. Parkside’s support group ministries are designed to facilitate this type of encouragement by bringing together people who face similar issues.

Three of our groups -- Finding Freedom, Cancer Support, and Single Moms -- will be meeting this summer to study the Bible, support one another, and learn how to face these struggles as a church family. While all of our care groups have been developed to serve our church family, we also welcome and encourage those in our community who are in need to join our groups. If you are struggling and need a helping hand, or know someone who does, we invite you to check out our care groups by attending one of our gatherings, or visiting our website for more information about other groups that meet throughout the year.

Finding Freedom

Finding Freedom is a 12-week discussion group for those struggling to experience freedom in Christ, whether from unhelpful patterns in their life or severe addiction.

A new session of our Finding Freedom care group begins on Thursday, July 9, at 7pm in Room 202. We will be using "Celebrate Recovery" curriculum this session. There is no cost or registration required.

Cancer Support

The discovery of cancer can be an unpredictable and frightening season in life. The Cancer Support Ministry is a Bible based support group designed to help anyone affected by the painful circumstances of cancer.  Whether battling cancer currently or acting as a loving caregiver, this ministry provides a place to for individuals to share stories, stresses, worries and celebration.

Our mission is to reach out to our church family and beyond by creating a confidential environment that merges biblical, emotional, social, and practical support.

Cancer Support is open to anyone whose life has been affected by the painful circumstances of cancer. Meetings are a time of encouragement, fellowship and prayer. Our next meeting will be on July 12 at 11:15 am in Room L22-23.

Single Moms

The Single Moms ministry extends friendship and practical assistance to those who face unexpected singleness and the challenge of raising children alone. Through the teaching of the Scriptures and the support of one another, they are equipped to deal with their pressing needs in a helpful and constructive way.

The Single Moms' care group will meet three times this summer: July 9 and 16 for topical discussions, and July 23 for a craft night. Meetings will take place on the Commons patio at 6:30 pm. Ice cream will be served. If it rains, the meetings will be held in Room 206B.

The group is open to single moms of any age or circumstance. Childcare is available.
