Vacation Bible School 2015

VBS 2015: The Race Is On

Each summer children ages 4 through grade 5 have the opportunity to hear excellent teaching from God’s Word during a fun-filled week.  A central Bible theme, combined with this year's "adventure racing" theme, The Race Is On, will be an exciting week of evangelism and discipleship.  Meaningful music, creative crafts, and super skits are just some of the great activities children enjoy as they learn what it means to have faith in Christ.

New to VBS?

If this is your child's first year attending VBS, here are some helpful tips to help make your experience go as smoothly as possible:

Registration

Pre-registration for children opens on May 1st. There is no registration deadline--we accept new children even on the very last day of VBS. However, we do have deadlines for pre-registration which allows you to receive your child's materials prior to the first day of VBS:

  • Paper Pre-registration deadline:  Sunday, June 7
  • Online Pre-registration deadline:  Thursday, June 11
  • All children who miss the pre-registration deadline dates will need to register at Parkside Church beginning Monday morning, June 15.

Can My Child Bring a Friend?

YES!  We encourage children to bring friends to VBS, and in fact, each paid registered child can bring ONE friend for FREE!  Every child must be registered--even "FREE" Friends. Friends should be "VBS-age" (4 years old-5th grade). All children who attend must be at least four years of age by June 30.

In the case of age differences among friends, we either place the children together in the youngest child’s age group or we separate the children into their age-appropriate groups (your choice).  We do not move younger children up to an older age group.

Opportunities to Serve

We need almost 300 people (adults and youth) to serve at Vacation Bible School each year!  From crafts, skits, recreation, music, snacks, and small group leaders--there is something for everyone

We ask that adult helpers be either members of Parkside Church or regular attendees for a minimum of six months. Youth helpers must have completed 6th grade and have a Parkside adult contact in order to serve. Orientation is also provided for those who serve at VBS, and in most cases, attendance is mandatory to ensure that each person is fully prepared to serve.
